Eric Adams na konferenciji o investiranju u zdravstvo New Yorka

The Mayor of New York City is launching what was described as the world's largest lifestyle medicine training initiative for healthcare workers.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine announced a $44 million investment to provide foundational Lifestyle Medicine training to healthcare workers across New York City.

City health leaders supported the initiative, which was intended to help healthcare professionals integrate evidence-based lifestyle medicine into clinical practice and use additional tools to address chronic disease.

The investment in New York City's healthcare workforce was expected to affect care for millions of patients, improve health outcomes and help reduce healthcare spending.

Mayor Adams said that a whole-food, plant-based diet had helped restore his vision, put his type 2 diabetes into remission and save his life. He described the initiative as a way to give practitioners more tools to address chronic disease and health inequalities while investing in a healthier city for future generations.
