Sexual health after childbirth: physical and emotional aspects

Speakers: Petra Kejla and Nina Gotal Škacan

Webinar 2025 · 01:31:06 · Audio: Croatian

Petra Kejla and Nina Gotal Škacan consider sexual health after childbirth through physical recovery, emotional changes and relationships. They discuss pain, dryness, sexual desire, satisfaction, communication and support, and how health professionals can open conversations about sexuality.

About the recording

Petra Kejla discusses sexuality as part of postnatal care. She considers physical and hormonal changes, pain, scars, dryness and pelvic-floor recovery, alongside history-taking, validation of experience and referral to other professionals.

Nina Gotal Škacan expands the discussion to satisfaction with sexual life, models of sexual response, and spontaneous and responsive desire. She connects intimacy with fatigue, body image, becoming a parent, sharing responsibilities and communication between partners.

Nikolina Polić moderates the webinar. The closing discussion addresses pain after childbirth, rehabilitation, psychological support and education. Both presentations emphasise open conversations about sexual difficulties while recognising each person’s experiences and needs.
