Attending the BSLM Conference 2026 at the University of Warwick in Coventry was a very positive experience for me. The programme covered a wide range of topics, and what stood out to me was the speakers’ enthusiasm and the way so many topics were linked to everyday patient care. Alongside the traditional talks, there were interactive workshops and plenty of time to discuss ideas with other participants.

BSLM Conference 2026: Lifestyle Medicine in Practice

I liked that the conference did not just talk about healthy living. Many of those ideas were part of the conference itself. Participants could take part in Nordic walking and yoga, use the swimming pool and join other activities. It made the conference feel more relaxed and quite different from what I am used to.

A Talk I Will Remember

The talk that made the greatest impression on me was Vicki Anstey’s talk on resilience, stress, boundaries and human potential. It was very interesting, honest and down-to-earth. It is one of the talks I will remember most.

What I Took Away

I was also interested to learn more about the options available to patients in the NHS and to see how doctors bring physical activity, nutrition, mental health and the other pillars of lifestyle medicine into everyday care. Seeing this whole-person approach in practice gave me a useful perspective.

The staff were very helpful and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. The food was excellent too. There was not a huge choice, but everything was delicious and, in my view, well balanced, which suited the spirit of the conference.

I came home with plenty of new ideas, and some extra motivation for my own work. I hope I will have the opportunity to attend another BSLM conference in the future.
